Platform Engineer

Your mission

Platform Engineers in Midokura develop the infrastructure, tools and services that accelerate our product teams by enabling them to manage the life cycle of applications, from source code management and continuous integration testing, to continuous deployment and operating the services in production.
We seek an engineer who has a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and a product-centric mindset. Responsibilities

Deliver the tooling necessary to solve the product team’s pain points. Among them:
- CI/CD infrastructure
- Define application deployable artifacts (docker containers and helm charts)
- Standardize infrastructure lifecycle management
- Observability tooling for operating services
Contribute to architecture designs and evaluations.
Focus on the upper layers of the Platform stack by providing added value on top of existing platform tools.
Help your team members grow and succeed, you seek to create a healthy and safe team culture where everyone feels responsible for final results and participates in all aspects of making the team work.
Be an active participant in Midokura´s engineering community helping to continuously push it to higher levels of excellence.

Your profile

Must-have skills and experience

Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Strong product mindset to shape the platform product portfolio
A solid base of software engineering fundamentals.
Strong experience in infrastructure management.
An eagerness to learn new technologies and a pragmatic approach to their application.
Enjoys working as part of a team and consider it a fundamental part of the job

Desired skills and experience

We believe you will thrive in Midokura if you possess a mix of some of the following skills and experiences:

Experience dealing with CI & CD systems (Github Actions, Flux CD)
Experience dealing with infrastructure management (Terraform)
Experience operating services in production
- SLOs, observability, networking, troubleshooting skills
Experience with Cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
Experience with Observability platforms such as DataDog or Grafana.
Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
How to iterate and improve Incident Management processes.
Implement and shape SLOs.
Define OKRs as a goal-setting tool.

Requirements

Education:

BS or MS in Computer Science, or a related field.

Other Requirements:

EU Working Permit.
Team worker.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Full Professional Proficiency)
Spanish or Japanese as a plus
